D.C. United exploded for four goals inside of the first 26 minutes of their U.S. Open Cup play-in match against rival New York Red Bull tonight at RFK Stadium. United cruised from there and ended up 5-3 winners and now advance to the 3rd round of the U.S. Open Cup.

DC United Dominates FC Dallas, Advances towards Open Cup Berth

DC United thoroughly dominated FC Dallas, winning 2-0 behind goals from Fred and precocious rookie Brandon Barklage, even stopping a late penalty kick from Kenny Cooper to preserve the shutout. The win puts United into a match against the NY-SJ winner to advance into the third round of the Open Cup proper as the defending champions.
