Washington, D.C. UnitedMania.com and OnTheSidelines.org (OTS) announced today the launch of the Mid-Atlantic Soccer Report (http://www.mid-atlanticsoccer.com), a combined effort to provide soccer fans of the Mid-Atlantic region with in-depth coverage of all area teams, including Major League Soccer's most decorated franchise, DC United; the A-League's Richmond Kickers and Virginia Beach Mariners; the MISL's Baltimore Blast; as well as other USL and NCAA Division I college teams in the region.
"The completion of this merger sets us up for the future," said Martin Fernandez, founder of UnitedMania.com. "Our goal has always been to evolve into a quality resource of information for soccer fans in this region. This merger brings us one giant step closer to that goal. The addition of OTS's quality reporters places us in a unique position that will benefit all soccer fans in the region."
Jimmy LaRoue, founder of OnTheSideLines.org echoed the sentiment.
"This merger makes absolute sense. Since we launched OTS our vision has been to provide soccer fans with diverse and quality content. Combining our resources and working together towards that goal will benefit all soccer fans in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond."
The new site, located at http://www.mid-atlanticsoccer.com, is powered by the MatchNight News Network (http://www.matchnight.com).
"We joined the Matchnight News Network in 2003 because they provided us with a solid foundation to grow," said Fernandez. "The resources, tools and the sense of community evident in the network is what led to this merger. As part of the network, the Mid-Atlantic Soccer Report is poised to become a leading source of information for soccer fans in the region."
