‘Recovering That Mystique’

Christian Gomez says DC United is recovering its mystique, and it comes at the same time that he is recovering his. Gomez scored his third goal of the season on a brilliant 30-yard free kick (left) and set up Ben Olsen for his first as United held on for their third straight win, 2-1 over Houston. United (3-3-1, 10 pts.) are now unbeaten in their last four matches, dating to the May 3, 1-1 tie with New England.

United Gets The Point

After a lifeless 1st half, United found themselves in familiar territory when Andy Dorman put the Revolution ahead in the 46th minute of the match, but minutes later, United’s Jaime Moreno earned and converted a penalty kick to even things out. The Black-and-Red could have taken all the points but misfortune and an outstanding performance by New England’s Matt Reis kept the teams level at 1. United will only have 2 day to prepare for Chivas USA, whom they will face this coming Sunday afternoon.
