DC United got their first win of the season, but still remain just ahead of last-place Toronto FC in the Eastern Conference standings after a 2-1 home win over Chivas USA before 14,627 at a windy RFK Stadium.
After a lifeless 1st half, United found themselves in familiar territory when Andy Dorman put the Revolution ahead in the 46th minute of the match, but minutes later, United’s Jaime Moreno earned and converted a penalty kick to even things out. The Black-and-Red could have taken all the points but misfortune and an outstanding performance by New England’s Matt Reis kept the teams level at 1. United will only have 2 day to prepare for Chivas USA, whom they will face this coming Sunday afternoon.
