CONCACAF Cup Preview

United is gearing up for the chance to represent the MLS in the World Club Championships to be held in Spain. But first DC must win in the CONCACAF Champions Cup to be held in LA on Jan 16-21. For now, it seems as though the Black-and-Red will have to do without Salvadoran Striker Raul Diaz Arce.

US to Play Colombia

The US National Team will play South American power Colombia in an international friendly at the Orange Bowl in Miami on February 3, 2001. The match will be the US’s final preparation match before the 10 game World Cup Qualifying campaign begins against Mexico in Chili Columbus on February 28.

Olsen News

This story appeared first on 12.15.2000 on forestfire.co.uk. By Jonathan Heath – News is filtering through that negotiations to bring Ben Olsen to The City Ground are hotting up. Reports of a fee being agreed, seem premature, but Olsen’s agent Dan Segal is believed to be on his way to England.

United Notes 12.20.00

DC United finished it’s Miami training "tour" with a disappointing loss to the Miami Fusion and a convincing win over amateur Club Uruguay on the 18. The Black-and-Red is now back in the DC area where it will train for a few days before they break for the holidays.

Olsen to Remain With Reds

Ben Olsen is to stay with Nottingham Forest until the remainder of their season. The DC United Midfielder will stay with the Reds for two weeks and then return stateside to participate with DC United in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. After that Olsen will return to Forest to finish their season.

KC to Host Qualifier

US Soccer is taking no chances. In an effort to ensure that the US has absolute home field advantage, Arrowhead stadium, home of the MLS Champion KC Wizards, has been chosen to host the April 25 World Cup Qualifier between the US National Team and the winner of the Guatemala/Costa Rica Contest.
